SATH Supports Tanzania National Trade Policy Review

The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania is currently revising its 2003 National Trade Policy. In an effort to conduct an inclusive consultative process, as a key component of the review, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIT) of Tanzania requested the Southern Africa Trade Hub (SATH) to assist in the facilitation of consultations with the private sector. These public-private sector consultations were held on 10 and 11 November 2011 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. A total of twenty-four private sector stakeholders attended the workshop.

SATH Trains Regional Energy Regulatory Practitioners on Clean Energy

CleanEnergyTraining_SquareRecognizing the need of energy regulation agencies to build capacity and accelerate the contribution of clean energy technologies through appropriate policies, regulations and practices the SATH carried out a training course for Regulatory Practitioners in Johannesburg, South Africa. The workshop attracted 31 participants (thirteen of them women) from Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, Swaziland, South Africa and Zambia.

SATH and Corporate Council on Africa Advance American Trade and Investment Flows into the Continent

With foreign investment at an all-time high, financiers are now scouring the continent for investment opportunities, and Africa is often described as the last global frontier. While it is true that barriers to trade remain and growth is mainly due to a rise in commodity prices, at five percent, Africa's economy is growing faster than that of any other continent.
