Transit Specialist

Magdeline Mabua is the USAID Southern Africa Trade Hub's Transit Specialist. She will be working closely with Member states on regional corridors to develop tools to assist in bringing down the cost of transport in the region.

Magdeline has over 15 years of experience in the transport sector. Her career in Transport started when she first joined the Department of Road Transport and Safety, Botswana in 1993 where, among others, she was responsible for coordinating cross border transport operational issues and working with SADC and SACU Institutions in implementing the SADC Protocol on Transport Communications and Meteorology and the SACU Memorandum of Understanding on Road Transportation. She joins the SATH project from the SACU Secretariat in Windhoek, Namibia, where she was coordinating and facilitating the SACU transport action plan as well as initiating the development of the long term SACU Transport Programme. She served in the Botswana Road Transport Appeals Tribunal from 2004-2009.

Magdeline holds a Master of Transport Management from Sydney University, Australia. She also has a BA in Economics and Accounting and an MBA from the University of Botswana.
