Investment Promotion/FDI Specialist

Reginald T. Selelo is the USAID Southern Africa Trade Hub’s Investment Promotion/Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Specialist. Among others, he will be assisting Mem-ber States in identifying constraints inhibiting investment.

Mr. Selelo is an international trade and investment econ-omist with specialty in international trade as well corpo-rate finance and investment. He has worked for several institutions which include among others the Southern African Customs Union (SACU) Secretariat as a trade negotiations coordinator from 2009-2011 and Botswana Export Development and Investment Authority (BEDIA) as a senior research executive from 2004-2009. His pro-fessional experience spans a period of over 8 years. Mr. Selelo’s key areas of expertise include investment policy, investment and export promotion, international trade law, trade negotiations, regional trade agreements, industrial policy and trade policy. Mr. Selelo has been involved in several consultancy and research projects in the areas of international trade and Investment.

Mr. Selelo holds a post Graduate Diploma in Trade Law and Policy Management from University of Cape Town, Master of Arts degree in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics both obtained from University of Botswana. In addition, he has attended several work-shops, seminars and short training courses in the area of trade policy, trade promotion, industrial development and trade statistics analysis.
