Kathleen Montgomery

Regional Integration Specialist/Acting Chief of Party

Kathleen Montgomery is Regional Integration Specialist at the USAID Southern Africa Trade Hub. She leads SATH activities in the area of Trade Liberalization. Kathleen has over 10 years experience in economic development consulting, specializing in the areas of World Trade Organization compliance, Free Trade Agreements and multilateral trading relationships, human and physical capital investment, capacity building, and promotion of women in business. Her work has focused considerably on the provision of advice on non-tariff trade barriers, optimal trade policy, preferential trading agreements for developing countries, the trade impact of privatization of input markets in developing countries, as well as technical barriers to trade.

Before joining SATH, Kathleen worked with the Southern Africa Global Competitiveness Hub as Chief of Party for Trade Facilitation and Capacity Building and Trade Advisor. Additionally, Kathleen has worked on trade projects around the world including prior projects in Southern Africa, Afghanistan, Jordan and Pakistan.
